Unleash the Archers with Striker, Order of Chaos, & WMD Saturday Oct 13/2018 @ the Starlite Room10/14/2018 So, I got down to the gig shortly after 8:00 PM. WMD had just started their set. I liked their sound; it was clear, not muddy. Next up was Order of Chaos. They were fairly decent. I find them much better live than they sound on CD. Next up were the two bands that I had really come to see: Striker & Unleash the Archers. Striker played for about an hour. They kicked ass!! They started out with 'Phoenix Lights' from Stand in the Fire' & finished with two from 'Eyes In the Night': 'Full Speed or No Speed' & 'The White Knight'. As an aside, I am unimpressed by the video for 'Phoenix Lights'. It comes across as boring & cliche. The video for 'Let it Burn', off Armed to the Teeth, however is much better: it tells a story & is entertaining. Finally, Unleash the Archers. I got introduced to this band several years ago when they sold out the Rendezvous. Anyway, I didn't stay for their full set; caught about 40 minutes. They were scheduled for an hour, just like Striker. They were pretty cool. Their singer, Brittany Slayes, had good stage presence & seemed to be genuinely enjoying herself. This was a well attended gig: about 20 tickets were available at the door when I got down there & those got snapped up. Comments?
