It was a Sunday night. The gig was at the Shaw Conference center. 'Noise Therapy' & 'Las Vegas Cryptkeepers' (LVCK) opened up. LVCK played 4 songs, followed by 'Noise Therapy', who did 6. LVCK won some kind of contest called 'Kickstart My Career' in which local bands in various cities vied for the opening slot in that city. Crowd of 3200 at the Shaw that night, according to the Edmonton Journal the next day. Crue were great that night. Opened with 'Dr. Feelgood'. They had a dazzling light show. Tommy Lee's rotating drum riser was absent.

This was on the 'Ceremony' tour. Lenny Kravitz opened. As I recall, the gig was sold out or nearly so. I've seen them several times since this gig. They haven't disappointed. However, they had trouble when opening for Metallica on the 'Damaged Justice' tour. It was widely reported that they were booed off stage. I wasn't there so cannot confirm or deny. The venue was the Agricom, now the Expo Center. |
