Anyone recall Slayer/Lamb of God + others on the 'Unholy Alliance tour' in Oil City, summer 2006?10/13/2016 This was an awesome gig. As I recall it was July or August; does anyone have the date? Mastodon was also on the bill, maybe one or two other bands. Slayer was the headliner. They opened with 'South of Heaven'. The P.A was arranged in an inverted cross formation. They also played a few tunes off of 'Christ Illusion', which was relatively new at the time. Lamb of God were excellent too, although I don't remember much about their set, except at one point Randy Blythe (the singer) got the crowd to part in the middle & then ram together. I think there's a word for that but it escapes me at the moment. Good crowd too, very nearly sold out.

Anyone recall Judas Priest in Oil City Oct20/2005 on the 'Angel of Retribution' world tour?10/10/2016 The gig was held at the coliseum - at the time called the Skyreach center. Anthrax opened. The crowd was about 6000 people. Priest opened with 'The Hellion/Electric Eye'. The set was similar to the 'Rising In the East' DVD. In Edmonton, however, they didn't play 'I'm a Rocker'. They ended the night with '(You've Got) Another Thing Coming'. The whole crowd was singing along . Good times. |
