Side note: He released a live album to document that tour (no part of which was recorded in Edmonton). Anyway, the last track on that double album is 'We Rock'. The band did not play that on this night in Edmonton. All in all, it was a good time, solid gig.
It was a Friday night in Edmonton. Some local band was set to open - Joe Rockhead & the Volunteer Fire Dept ( I think). Anyhow, the gig went down without an opener. Dio opened with "Jesus, Mary & Holy Ghost" off of 'Strange Highways'. It was a real intimate show; crowd of about 300 at the Thunderdome, now the Union Hall. The band played songs from throughout Dio's career with Rainbow, Sabbath & his solo work. People were passing memorabilia up to the stage for him to sign & pass back. He did, quite graciously, too.
